Yamunotri is a sacred pilgrimage site located in the Uttarkashi district of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is one of the four important pilgrimage sites in the Char Dham Yatra circuit, which holds great significance in Hinduism. Yamunotri is situated in the Garhwal Himalayas at an elevation of approximately 3,293 meters (10,804 feet) above sea level. The main attraction at this site is the Yamunotri Temple, dedicated to the goddess Yamuna, who is considered the daughter of the Sun God, Surya, in Hindu mythology.
